Garden Update #5
I pulled radishes up for the first time the other day, still waiting on the watermelon variety. Unfortunately, the leeks and parsnips did not come up. They were last years seeds. Usually, I can reuse most seeds and they germinate just fine. The swiss chard is looking nice, and I cut some greens that I planted in little pots. Right now we are getting most of our greens from Wholesome Valley Farm just up the road on route 62. They have got a lot of product and are continuing to grow their inventory. I planted more peas. The first round is about 8 inches tall. Some bunnies were getting to the peas when they were tiny we had to cover them. They are healthy now though. I also planted a variety of sage, nina rose lavender, and rosemary in our herb garden. We are going to Wholesome Valley Farm tomorrow because a local grower supplied them with a great selection of unique herbs for great prices!
